🚗 Changes to Pick-Up Arrangements

We are changing the arrangements at pick-up to support parents in collecting their children quickly and safely. Moving forward, we will be trialling a new system where parents are allowed to use both gates to enter and exit during the main pick-up time.

Please note: For children attending after-school clubs, the entrance and exit at pick-up will strictly be the Chace Village Road gate (by the bike shed).

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we trial this new system to make school collection smoother for everyone.

🌟 ODA’s Got Talent is Back!

We are delighted to announce that ODA’s Got Talent is returning this summer term!

As many of you may know, this is a wonderful opportunity for children to showcase their talents and passions. Whether your child enjoys singing, dancing, performing magic tricks, demonstrating sporting skills, playing an instrument or has another special talent they would like to share, we would love to see them take part.

Next Friday, 12 June during Golden Time, children will have the opportunity to audition in their classes in front of their teammates. This audition should last no longer than 2.5 minutes. Successful performers will progress to the next round, with the chance of reaching the final stages of the competition.

Please note that taking part is entirely optional, and not all children are expected to audition. We simply want to provide an opportunity for those who would like to share a talent or passion with others. We can't wait to see the amazing talents our students have to share!

💜 Wishing Tanya a Fond Farewell

We will be incredibly sad to say goodbye next Friday to Tanya, who is leaving ODA for an exciting new chapter.

Tanya has shown immense hard work and commitment during her time with us, and she will be dearly missed by students, parents and staff alike. She is leaving us to manage a nursery - a role we know she will be absolutely fantastic at!

Thank you for everything, Tanya. We will miss you greatly, but we are all looking forward to hearing all about your new adventure. Wishing you the very best of luck!

🏕️ A Huge Thank You to the Year 5 Camping Trip Crew

We want to extend a massive thank you to all of the ODA staff, with a special shout-out to Mia Hatzer and Talia, our fantastic Year 5 teachers, for organising such an incredible Year 5 camping trip!

At ODA, we often talk about the "power of moments," and you have certainly given our Year 5 students two fun-filled days of moments they will never forget. We couldn't run these wonderful trips and residentials without staff members who are so willing to give up their own valuable time to ensure our children have safe, amazing and lifelong memories.

🗺️ Exploring ODA Joining AIM Academies Trust

Today, parents/carers have been sent a letter and FAQs explaining how One Degree Academy is currently exploring the possibility of joining AIM Academies Trust. No final decision has been made at this stage, and any proposal would need approval from the Governing Board following a detailed review process.

As the letter underscores, it is important to be clear that this exploration is not being driven by any concerns about the school’s performance or direction. This is a proactive and strategic decision, taken from a position of strength. Joining AIM Academies Trust could provide further opportunities for collaboration, innovation and sharing of expertise.

We look forward to hearing and answering any of your questions. You can submit any questions through this Google Form, with the option of submitting anonymously. Please ensure all questions are sent in by Friday 12th June. We will then answer these during our Zoom call on Thursday 18th June. Don't worry if you cannot attend; we will follow up in writing to all parents/carers so that everyone receives the information they need. Joining details for the call will be sent out nearer the time.

🎶 ODA Adult Choir Taster Session

Interested in singing with other adults in the ODA community, including staff and other parents/carers? At ODA we are all about giving things a go and looking at how we can add value to our community. We are excited to say that one of our parent governors, Adeola, has agreed to use her musical skills to support us with a taster singing event to see if a regular ODA Adult Choir may be of interest.

The Adult Choir Taster Session will take place on Wednesday 1st July. Please help us to make the event a success by completing the following form, where you can tell us about your interest level, if you will be coming to the event and, if so, what time would work best. Thank you for your help!
