💜 A Warm Farewell

A big thank you and farewell to Jay, our Facilities & Estates Officer, who is taking some well-earned time to spend with his family.

Jay has been so much more than the person who looks after our site. He has thrown himself into school life and is always ready with a smile or high-five at pick-up!

We are so grateful for everything he has done for ODA and we will certainly miss him. We’ll keep in touch, and wish Jay and his family a wonderful time together.

📊 Reception Baseline

In accordance with DfE regulation, students in Reception will be undertaking their Reception Baseline assessment over the next four weeks. Please see the attached flyer here from 2025 for more information (note: the process is the same this year).

🐒 New Climbing Equipment

We are still waiting for the final safety checks to be completed before our new climbing equipment can be used. In the meantime, we have placed tape around the equipment as a reminder that it is not yet safe to use. We have noticed that some students and parents are finding it difficult to resist using it at pick-up time, so we would really appreciate your support in reminding children to stay off the equipment until we give the go-ahead.

We will let you know as soon as all the necessary checks have been completed and it is safe for the children to use. Thank you for your patience and support.

🦺 Pick-Up

Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a safe and smooth end to the school day for everyone.

Our pick-up procedures are carefully planned with the whole school community in mind. While we know they may not always be the most convenient for individuals, they play a vital role in ensuring a safe and efficient exit for all our children.

To help things run as smoothly as possible, please:

  • Park legally and safely
  • Stand back from the pick-up point until your child’s class is brought out so staff can clearly see and match children with their parents or carers

Your cooperation really does make a big difference. Thank you again for working with us to keep our school community safe and well-organised.
