ODA After School Clubs (Yrs 1-6)

Please keep an eye out for information regarding our ODA After School Club offer that went out today. It will detail the clubs on offer and the necessary sign-up details.

Please note: for the Autumn term the ODA After School Club offer is only for students in Year 1 to Year 6. Reception students will be able to access the ODA After School Club offer from the Spring Term.

Year 1 Tie Ceremony

This year, your Year 1 child will be wearing a tie every day as part of our commitment to high standards and a strong sense of identity at ODA.

We do this to foster a sense of belonging and pride—being part of something bigger, together.

The tie ceremony will take place on Monday 8th September from 3:30-4:00pm in the Hall. Year 1 parents and carers are invited to arrive at 3:15pm for a prompt 3:30pm start to the ceremony.

A few helpful reminders:

  • Please ensure their top button can be fastened comfortably, as this is part of the expected uniform.
  • If your child finds the top button uncomfortable, consider buying a slightly bigger shirt to help them adjust more easily.
  • A properly fitting tie should sit neatly and feel comfortable.
  • Note that Velcro collar shirts are often less comfortable with a tie. Buttoned shirts are recommended.

Looking smart helps our students feel proud, confident and connected to our ODA community—and we appreciate your support in helping set that tone.

Best Football Team Trials (Yrs 5 & 6)

ODA have entered the Best Football Team league, which will be conducted across three Tuesdays in the late Autumn 1 Term. Therefore, we will be holding some trials in order to select the squad. If your child would like to take part in the trials on Wednesday 10th September at lunchtime, can they please wear their PE kit to school on this day. Those students who have been selected will be notified of their role in the squad. Please note: being selected for the squad does not necessarily mean that they will be selected for the fixtures.

Enfield Ignatians - Girls Rugby

To mark the Women’s Rugby World Cup and try to boost the number of girls we have playing at all age groups, Enfield Ignatians RFC is holding an event on Sunday 14th September from 11:00am-1:00pm to promote girls rugby. It’s a chance for younger players or would-be players to meet the senior girls teams at EIRFC, see how they train and get involved in some activities with them. All primary-aged girls are welcome. See more details in the flyer below.

Flu Immunisations for Students in Reception through Year 6 (Friday 26th September)

The school nursing team will be coming in to administer the flu vaccine. This is generally done by a nose spray but they also offer the alternative injection if preferred. Please see the leaflet linked to at the top of this Bulletin (the link reads "Download PDF") for further information. You must complete the form EVEN IF YOU DO NOT want your child to receive this.
