While school has been shut to students today, staff have been analysing the assessments your children have completed over the last week. The analysis of assessment data at ODA is very detailed—literally on a question-by-question basis! We will then use this data on Monday to put plans in place to address the gaps identified. We believe that staff investing time in this way ensures progress for all students and results in our consistently impressive outcomes at ODA. #ProudlyDifferent

This is a reminder that our annual class photographs will be taking place next Thursday 26th March. Please can you make sure your child is in full school uniform as usual and they bring their P.E. kit separately if needed.
Once the photos have been taken, proof cards will be given to teachers for distribution to parents. The instructions for ordering and payment of photos will be clearly printed on the proof cards and there will be a one-week window to order your photos. All orders will be delivered to ODA if ordered on time.
As usual at the end of term, ODA will close earlier than normal. On Friday 27th March, EYFS and KS1 will finish at 2:00pm, and KS2 will finish at 2:10pm.
We will be holding our Summer Term Progress Review Day on Tuesday 14th April from 8:00am-5:00pm. This is a great opportunity to come into school and have a 15-minute meeting with your child’s class teacher to review their progress this academic year. Please remember that non-attendance for your meeting means your child will be marked absent for the day. Students are expected to attend the meeting with their parents/carer in full school uniform.
The sign-up window opens on Saturday 21st March at 6:00pm and will close on Monday 13th April at 8:00am. Please log on to MCAS to book your appointment.
ODA have secured 20 spaces for Key Stage 2 students to take part in the Mini London Marathon on Saturday 25th April. The event involves a 1-mile run from Horse Guards Parade and along The Mall.
Our start time is yet to be confirmed but will be an AM or early afternoon slot. Parents/carers will be required to take their child to the event and stay with them before taking them home. Some ODA staff members will also be running and cheering on the students.
If your child would like to trial for a place, please ensure they have their trainers with them on Wednesday 25th March for the lunchtime trials. If your child has been successful in obtaining a place, they will be informed at the end of next week.
The KS2 Dance Club delivered an outstanding performance at the Enfield Dance Festival on Tuesday, taking to the stage in front of a packed audience of 360 people. Their routine was adeptly executed, and every student was a true credit to the school. A massive thank you to Melvyn and Kylie for leading and supporting the group, and to all the parents and carers for your fantastic encouragement. A very special thank you also goes to our wonderful dance teacher, Jo Bakhurst, for her creativity, dedication and hard work in choreographing and teaching such an impressive routine. ✨
Hay fever season is approaching. For children who suffer from hay fever and require medication, please complete the medical request form here or via MCAS. We would recommend that, whenever possible, medication is given before and after they come to school.
Thank you so much to all those who joined our under-3s session this half term! We’ve loved having you with us. Although there are no more sessions until next half term, we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back to Tilly & Taj Tots after the break. As usual, please stay up-to-date by reading the Bulletin.
At ODA, we really value your thoughts. If you have any feedback that could help us make our sessions even better, please feel free to email the school office at parents@onedegreeacademy.org — we’d love to hear from you.
If you were given a Boromi bag, please return it to the main office by Monday morning (23 March) at drop-off. We’ll be refreshing and sending them out again next half term.
Music is a big part of our school curriculum and because of this the children will be performing the songs they have been learning during their music lessons. This will take place in the playground at the end of the day on the dates and times shown below.
We would love to see as many people there as possible as it is a great opportunity for the children to showcase all of their hard work this term! If you are not able to attend, we will be recording these performances and uploading some to our Instagram account so you can all enjoy!
