🌟 SATs Results - Class of 2032

At One Degree, we have a clear mission: to ensure our students lead lives of choice and opportunity. We achieve this by building strong academic foundations that enable them to thrive at secondary school.

We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2032 for their hard work and commitment throughout their time with us.

The Department for Education has recently released the latest national statistics for last year and the results speak for themselves. Our Reading, Writing and Maths outcomes place us in the top 2% of over 16,300 primary schools nationally.

It is no surprise that the Class of 2032, like the graduates before them, are thriving at secondary school—a testament to their dedication, resilience and the high expectations shared by students, staff and families.

Well done to the Class of 2032—we could not be prouder!

🎯 Progress Review Day

We will be holding our Spring Term Progress Review Day on Tuesday 6th January 2026 from 8:00am-5:00pm. This is a great opportunity to come into school and have a 15-minute meeting with your child’s class teacher to review their progress this academic year. The sign-up window opens on Monday 15th December at 6:00pm and will close on Monday 5th January at 4pm. Please log-on to MCAS to book your appointment.

💬 Parent Feedback

We greatly value parent feedback, as it helps us reflect, improve and communicate our decisions more clearly. Providing specific, precise feedback allows us to take action, so please take the time to complete this short survey here before 4th Jan.

🍎 Placements

As part of our ongoing commitment to staff development, Talia will be going on a placement from Wednesday 7th January for four weeks. We are so excited for her to see what great things she learns and brings back to us at ODA. In her time on placement, Chisom, Jamie and Simon will be sharing class responsibilities. If you have any questions / concerns, please ask to speak with Jamie.

During this time, Mia and Hasna also have their four-week placements. They will be staying at One Degree, but Mia will be teaching in City Class and Hasna will be teaching in Cardiff Class. We look forward to this exciting part of their professional development and the new things they will each bring to the students they are working with.

🏰 Share a Story

At ODA, we know how important reading is and would love to celebrate a culture of reading within our school. Each Friday in the new year, we invite parents/carers and siblings of our Reception students to join us for a short story time, 8:20-8:35am in the Reception Classrooms.

📚 One Degree Academy Library Launch

We are extremely excited to announce that we will be opening our new library, The Cambridge Library, in the new year! It is being carefully designed and developed to provide a central space for all of our wonderful books and to be a hub for both reading and performance at One Degree. The library will also form part of our new reading home learning offer for Years 2 to 6, Accelerated Reader, about which we will provide details very soon.

We cannot wait to open a new special place in our school and we are delighted that a bestselling and award-winning author will also be visiting to formally open The Cambridge Library! Stay tuned for more details…

What’s in a name?

As you know, our classes are named after the universities our teachers attended. For our library, we wanted to give a nod to Cambridge University, an inspirational place in the UK to study English Literature.

🚧 Roads Update - New Pedestrian Access

The builders have informed us that the old existing access path from Shooters Road to Chace Village Road will permanently close from 5th January 2026. Pedestrian access from Shooters Road will be possible via a new road that has been constructed.
